Medical Cost

more text on this site I question!

Medical: Did you know some of the best hospitals in the world charge only about 10% to 15% of what Americans hospitals charge, health insurance in many countries is as little as $50 per month, regardless of pre existing conditions. Now many countries healthcare is complete free and with equal or better health care. Plus doctors make your healthcare decisions not executives at insurance companies that have no medical training. Every week thousands of people die because their insurance company denies them treatment.

Myth about American medical

This is a myth, very few people travel to the USA for medical treatment, the US may have many illegals living here that get medical. But very few people travel to the USA for medical treatment. I have been in many hospitals in the US and have never met anyone form a foreign country that came here for medical treatment.
But when I travel abroad I always see American seeking treatment, in fact this is now big business;, Medical tourism . When I was in Thailand I went to Bumrungrad Hospital, thousands of foreign travel every day to come Bumrungrad Hospital, an estimated 350,000 foreign travel to this one hospitals alone for medical treatment, mostly USA citizens. That is nearly 6 times more foreigners in one hospital than all the hospitals in the USA. I want to repeat this one more time, ONE hospital does 6 times more foreigners than ALL US hospitals combined.

Each year, 750,000 US citizens seek medical treatment abroad. Between 60,000 and 85,000 foreigners seek in-patient medical treatment in the US. Source: LA times

If and if

I dont know the research but I would think this is logical. If the medical in other countries meets the general standards of that in the US but it costs so much less, why would anyone ever come to the US for medical?

I would love to see more stats and numbers on this topic. Very interesting. Many Americans would travel to other countries if they trusted the medical in those places. its interesting how people make opinions without facts.

US vs Foreign healthcare

1st we need to look at quality of heather care, US ranks 3 th in the world. This means 37 other countries have better medical. So the risk of going outside the US is very minimal.

See: World Health Organization ranking of health systems
http://http://escapingamerica.org/medical-tourism/world-health-organization-ranking-best-health-care.html

Beyond Borders, which produces guidebooks on medical travel. The organization estimates that in 2012, 600,000 people will travel abroad for treatment -- a number anticipated to grow 15 to 20 percent annually as boomers age.

There are some people who do come to the US for health care, but many come from México or other third world countries. These are wealthy foreigners who come here more for the convenience rather than travel to Asia our Europe.

Have to disagree American medicine is better than most in world.

Half my extended family lives in Canada and I get to hear their horror stories about canadian health system and how long the process is to get in to see a doctor. The waiting list is just like you would expect for state run health care in a country where socialism is something they are very proud about. I am a lesbian woman so you might think I would be liberal in my attitudes about state health care and socialism but my grandfather died in France during world war two and he wrote wonderful letters to my grandmother about the nazi socialisms he knew about. He was also very wise at his young age about how bad the army medical system could be because of the bureaucracy which is what socialism really is. My canada family has to wait for months to see a doctor even for simple things that are usually over with by the time the appointment comes. I am a business owner and know for a fact that private industry gets things done before any bureaucracy can. If you had to wait for the state to deliver your food instead of independent truckers we would all starve. Food for thought :-)
